A high protein, nutrient dense snack

High in essential fatty acids and co-factors (vitamin B6, magnesium and zinc) required for serotonin production. Combined with good-quality chocolate to provide high-quality antioxidant polyphenols and the feel-good chemical phenylethylamine – they make the perfect go-to post work out or when you feel like something sweet!


Ingredients 

  • 4 dates, pitted 
  • 1 cup mixed nuts & seeds (sunflower seeds, sesame seeds, walnuts, almonds, cashews, pumpkin seeds) 
  • 1 tablespoon sultanas 
  • 1 tablespoon pure cocoa powder 
  • Freshly squeezed juice of 1 orange 
  • ¼ cup desiccated coconut / chia seeds / cocoa, to roll balls in 

Method

  1. Put all ingredients (except coconut/chia/cocoa to roll balls in), into a food processor and blend to a smooth paste.
  2. Roll into small balls and coat in the coconut/chia or cocoa.
  3. Chill for 30 minutes to set then serve at room temperature.
  4. Store in the fridge in an airtight container and eat within 5 days. Freezes well.
