Contemporary ceramic studio, gallery and workshop space.
From the rural studio base on her family’s small farm in the Macedon Ranges, 75 minutes from Melbourne, Emma Jimson lives, designs, creates, teaches, learns and sells her work.
She runs Pom-me-granite Studios with her husband Jim – together they are the carpenter and the ceramicist.
The chemistry, alchemy and process of her ceramic practise are an endless source of curiosity and wonder that drives experimentation, challenges comfort and informs direction.
She is guided by function and uses the strength of porcelain with its contradicting translucence to create her forms. Her ceramics are feminine, elegant and refined, having everyday use modelled into their being; to hold and be held.
Visit to glimpse into a working ceramic practice and browse the gallery for unique porcelain tableware, fermenting vessels, wooden objects and lavender oil grown and distilled on sight. There is always a pot of tea brewing, a conversation to have, a connection to be made and stunning studio surrounds to enjoy. Classes run throughout the year offering an enjoyable afternoon amongst friends, deep skills for the professional ceramicist or simply an opportunity to lose yourself as you play with clay.
Open Sunday and Monday 10.30 – 4.30pm
All other times by appointment.
We acknowledge the Taungurung people as the traditional owners and custodians of the lands on which we are privileged to live, learn and create. We pay our sincere respect to elders past and present. We extend that respect to all First Nations Peoples today.
